Alex is a lifelong resident of North Central Iowa. He has been with Kingland Systems since 1998, and he is a partner with the firm responsible for clients and industry teams. Alex is a graduate of Iowa State University, and serves as an Elder at Grace Evangelical Free of Mason City. Alex and his wife, Holly, have two children who attend Clear Lake Classical.

Greg Nicholas

Greg grew up in Clear Lake and comes from a heritage of farming and sailing. He even attended elementary school in the Mars Hill building! Studying law at the University of Iowa, Greg practiced in Mason City for many years and also served as President of the Trust Department at First Citizen's Bank before retiring. Greg is passionate about Classical Christian Education and enjoys serving CLC in a variety of ways. You can usually find him mowing the Upper School grounds or warmly greeting the students at the Lower School every morning in the fall and spring with his sidekick, Lucy. Greg enjoys sailing, helping on the farm during harvest and warm winters in Florida. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for almost 50 years and they have three grown children and seven grandchildren, all of whom he gets to see on an almost daily basis. Greg and Julie are members of Clear Lake Baptist Church.

Andrea Johnson

Andrea is a grateful participant in Christ-centered classical education. Raised in Michigan and trained as a registered nurse, Andrea has served in a variety of nursing roles over the years. Embracing life in rural Iowa has been a joy, and she currently works as an office manager at Riverbend Farms alongside her husband, Lucas. Their three children joined Clear Lake Classical in 2019 and continue to thrive.

Cory Gerdts has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. He is the Director
of Innovation and Customer Solutions for Protein BioSolutions and has worked in
Biotech since 2007. He is also a small business owner in Clear Lake and is serving
as Administrative Director at Clear Lake Classical. Cory and his wife, Emily, have two children and reside in Clear Lake and are passionate about supporting classical and Christian education.

Brian loves classical education and seeing it blossom in the lives of children and families.
He studied at Bethel University, The Bethlehem Institute, and Westminster Theological Seminary, California. He has been excited to work peripherally with classical schools in three different states. Brian lives in Garner, IA with his lovely wife and three children, where he serves as Minister of Word & Sacrament at Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church.

Andrew graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College, Lincoln Land Technical Institute, and Buena Vista University. He and his wife, Sondra, love country living on their acreage south of Ventura with their four daughters. Their family are members at Faith Baptist Church in Mason City.
