Renee Diamond
Board Member
Renee was born and raised on a family farm in rural Iowa. She is a graduate of University of Portland and Creighton Medical School, and attended residency in Kansas City. She is now a family physician at Iowa Specialty Hospital and Clinics serving as the Medical Director at the Garner Clinic, caring for patients of all ages. She and her husband, Josh, enjoy adventures and movie nights with their two children. Seeking out God-centered education for Ella and Dawson, they joined CLC in 2020. Renee quickly developed an appreciation for classical education, and feels blessed to watch God work in the hearts and minds of all involved.

Cory Gerdts
Board Member and Acting Headmaster
Cory Gerdts has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. He is the Director
of Innovation and Customer Solutions for Protein BioSolutions and has worked in
Biotech for 10 years. He is also a small business owner in Clear Lake and is serving
as Acting Headmaster at Clear Lake Classical. Cory and his wife, Emily, have two children and reside in Clear Lake and are passionate about supporting classical and Christian education in North Iowa.

Gabriel M. Haugland
Board Member
Gabriel M. Haugland is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Drake Law School.
He is a licensed attorney and serves as a JAG Officer (military attorney) in the Iowa National
Guard in the rank of Major. He is also a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)
where he led a 32-man Infantry platoon in combat. He and his wife Carolyn live in Clear Lake and
have two children.

Brian Lund
Board Member
Brian J. Lund loves classical education and seeing it blossom in the lives of children and families.
He studied at Bethel University, The Bethlehem Institute, and Westminster Theological Seminary,
California. He has been excited to work peripherally with classical schools in three different states.
Brian lives in Garner, IA with his lovely wife and three children, where he serves as minister of Word
& Sacrament at Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church.

Greg Nicholas
Board Member
Greg Nicholas is a lifelong resident of Clear Lake and is a graduate of St. Olaf College
and the University of Iowa law school. Greg and Julie have three children and six grandchildren. They are active in the music ministry, AWANA, Adult Sunday School and small groups at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church. Greg is a board member of International Messengers and the Caring Pregnancy Center.

Alex Olson
Board Member
Alex Olson is a lifelong resident of North Central Iowa. He has been with Kingland Systems since 1998, and he currently is executive vice president responsible for clients and industry teams and serves as the chief security officer. Alex is a graduate of Iowa State University, and he is active in his local church, Grace Evangelical Free of Mason City. Alex and his wife, Holly, have two children that attend Clear Lake Classical.

Andrew Stupka
Board Member
Andrew Stupka has worked at Prairie Energy Cooperative in Garner since 2014, he currently serves as lead lineman. Andrew graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College, Lincoln Land Technical Institute, and Buena Vista University. He and his wife, Sondra, have been married for 13 years and live on an acreage south of Ventura with their three daughters. Their family are members at Faith Baptist Church in Mason City, and all three girls are students at Clear Lake Classical.
