Philosophy of Education
Clear Lake Classical was established in 2014 as a private, Christian school committed to providing a classical and biblically-based education to young people in primary and secondary grade levels. Education at Clear Lake Classical is intended to be inherently different in philosophy and content than that offered in the public schools. Clear Lake Classical strives to operate as a servant to the family under the assumption that the education of young people is the responsibility of parents and the immediate family rather than the responsibility of the state. Clear Lake Classical provides a biblically-based curriculum and teaches all subjects as parts of an integrated whole with the Scriptures at the center. In conjunction with the biblical emphasis, Clear Lake Classical strives to follow a classical and Christian education.

Clear Lake Classical currently operates at 1310 Hwy 18 W and 408 Mars Hill Drive in Clear Lake, IA. We are now taking applications for students grades PreK-12th Grade! To arrange a visit call 641-732-2526 or email us at info@clearlakeclassical.org.
Objectives and Standards of Clear Lake Classical

In the programs and teaching at all levels, the extracurricular activities, and the examples set by faculty and staff, and the board of directors, Clear Lake Classical strives to:

  • Teach all subjects in the curriculum as parts of an integrated whole with the infallible Scripture at the center (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Corinthians 10:3-5).
  • Provide a clear model of biblical Christian life through the school staff and board (Matthew 22:37- 40).
  • Encourage every student to begin to develop or continue in a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20).
  • Emphasize grammar, logic, and rhetoric in all subjects, with appropriate adjustments to grade level. (We understand grammar to be the fundamental rules and data of each subject. We understand logic to be the ordered relationship of particulars in each subject. We understand rhetoric to be the means by which the grammar and logic of each subject may be expressed clearly.)
  • Encourage every student to grow in a love for learning and to achieve their academic potential.
  • Provide an orderly and secure atmosphere conducive to maintaining these standards.

Clear Lake Classical admits students of any race, color, sex and national or ethnic origin, to all the rights, privileges, programs,
and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex or
national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Clear Lake Classical does reserve the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment,
philosophical compatibility, and a willingness to cooperate with the Clear Lake Classical administration and abide by its policies.

What our CLC Parents are saying:

"Clear Lake Classical is such a blessing to our family. Our daughter has throughly enjoyed her years at CLC. She has been challenged both academically and personally and as a result has grown tremendously in both areas. The joy that radiates from her upon learning it is a school day is a credit to her teachers and the way they integrate learning and fun. I could go on and on about all the reasons we chose CLC for our child. Thank you Clear Lake Classical! We look forward to next year!
