Philosophy of Education
Clear Lake Classical was established in 2014 as a private, Christian school committed to providing a classical and biblically-based education to young people in primary and secondary grade levels. Education at Clear Lake Classical is intended to be inherently different in philosophy and content than that offered in non-classical schools. Clear Lake Classical strives to operate as a servant to the family under the assumption that the education of young people is the responsibility of parents and the immediate family. Clear Lake Classical provides a biblically-based curriculum and teaches all subjects as parts of an integrated whole with the Scriptures at the center. Clear Lake Classical, a K-12 school, is accredited by Christian Schools International and recognized by the State of Iowa.
Clear Lake Classical currently operates at 408 Mars Hill Drive in Clear Lake, IA and 110 S. Main St. Ventura, IA. We are now taking applications for students grades PreK-12th Grade! To arrange a visit call 641-732-2526 or email us at [email protected].

In the programs and teaching at all levels, the extracurricular activities, and the examples set by faculty and staff, and the board of directors, Clear Lake Classical strives to:
- Teach all subjects in the curriculum as parts of an integrated whole with the infallible Scripture at the center (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Corinthians 10:3-5).
- Provide a clear model of biblical Christian life through the school staff and board (Matthew 22:37- 40).
- Encourage every student to begin to develop or continue in a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Emphasize grammar, logic, and rhetoric in all subjects, with appropriate adjustments to grade level. (We understand grammar to be the fundamental rules and data of each subject. We understand logic to be the ordered relationship of particulars in each subject. We understand rhetoric to be the means by which the grammar and logic of each subject may be expressed clearly.)
- Encourage every student to grow in a love for learning and to achieve their academic potential.
- Provide an orderly and secure atmosphere conducive to maintaining these standards.
